Some time ago Victor Caballero wrote to me saying that he needed a world map with certain characteristics for a new visualization project. I sent him one of my vector maps and recently I’ve seen that request turned into a really attractive method to visualize infographics. It is a 360º format (whether desktop or mobile, and I suppose it will also be ideal for virtual reality accessories) to present multimedia and interactive information.
The subject of the experiment is the famous circumnavigation of the Magellan-Elcano expedition. On September 20,1519, the five ships that were going to complete the first round-the-world voyage recorded in history, departed from Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Spain)… the rest of it is history.
